An account of the hairdressers’ strike of 1918 which closed West End saloons for seven weeks in 1918, leaving the great and the good sadly unshaven.
Tribune History is a new blog launched in association with Tribune Magazine and Tribune Cartoons to provide a sense of the long story behind today’s hot political issues. Regular features include a “strike of the month” and short biographies of “old statesmen/women”.
